Cloudflare Connects With $150M More
San Francisco-based Cloudflare, which provides Internet caching and security services, said on Tuesday that it has raised $150M in a new round of funding, bringing its total raised to $330M. According to Cloudflare, the latest round was led by Franklin Templeton, and also included its prior investors, New Enterprise Associates, Union Square Ventures, Venrock, Pelion Venture Partners, Greenspring Associates, CapitalG (formerly Google Capital), Microsoft, Baidu, Qualcomm, and Fidelity. As part of the funding, Cloudflare added two new members to its board of directors--Stan Meresman, former CFO of Silicon Graphics, and Maria Eitel, founder and co-chair of the Nike Foundation. Cloudflare's Internet caching services help websites run faster, and the company's services are also used to reduce the impact of distributed denial of service (DDoS) and other attacks on web sites.
