Trimble Buys ThingMagic
Sunnyvale-based Trimble said today that it has acquired ThingMagic, a developer of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology products. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Trimble, the acquisition will expand the firm's technology portfolio. ThingMagic was based in Cambridge, Mass. Trimble said ThingMagic will continue to offer up its RFID readers and services to customers, and become part of its Advanced Devices segment. ThingMagic was venture backed by .406 Ventures, Cisco Corp., Exxel Group, Inventec Appliances, Morningside Venture Investments, Top Line Growth Capital, and Tudor Ventures.
