Cemaphore Systems Acquired

San Mateo-based Cemaphore Systems, which provides email synchronization software and services, has been acquired by Sparxent, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based IT provider. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Cemaphore was venture backed by Mayfield, Worldview Technology Partners, and vSpring. Cemaphore's email synchronization product, MailShadow, provides continuous replication of Microsoft Exchange and other email software, and was targeted at the mid-market, including customers in banking, financial services, and the legal and healthcare industry.
