Cisco Buys newScale

San Jose-based Cisco said today that it is acquiring Foster City-based newScale, a developer of software for managing IT processes. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cisco said that newScale will become part of its Advanced Services organization. newScale was venture backed by Chess Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Menlo Ventures, Montagu Newhall Associates, New Enterprise Associates, Parker Price, and Wasatch Cross Creek Capital.
