Cisco Buys Lancope For $452.5M
San Jose-based networking giant Cisco said Tuesday that it is paying $452.5M to acquire network security and monitoring startup Lancope. Cisco said the acquisition will help bolster its cybersecurity threat defense capabilities. Cisco said it will pay Cisco will pay $452.5 million in cash and assumed equity awards, plus additional retention based incentives. Lancope becomes part of the Cisco Security Business Group. Lancope was based in Alpharetta, Georgia.
