Cisco Completes Jabber Acquisition
San Jose-based Cisco said today that it has completed its acquisition of Jabber, a maker of instant messaging and presence software. Jabber becomes part of the firm's Collaboration Software Group. Cisco has not disclosed details of the acquisition, which was announced in early September. Jabber's software included an instant messaging server and related client software, based on the XCP instant messaging protocol.
