Microchip Biotechnologies Raises $4.5M
Dublin, California-based Microchip Biotechnologies has raised $4.5M in a Series A venture round, the firm said Tuesday. The funding came from In-Q-Tel, the Central Intelligence Agency's venture capital fund, and RONA Syndicates LLC. Microchip is commercializing products based on nanofluidic technology. The firm said that the funding would be used to accelerate its development efforts, develop portable forensics devices for DNA typing, and fund infrastructure for manufacturing nanofluidic microchips.
