SuperMicro Files for IPO

San Jose-based Super Micro Computer has filed for an IPO, saying in a filing last night that it is looking to raise up to $150M on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "SMCI". Super Micro is a manufacturer of PC servers and other systems. The IPO is being underwritten by Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch & Co., UBS Investment Bank, and Needham & Company. Super MIcro reported earnings of $16.9M on sales of $302M for fiscal year 2006.
