Equinix Buys IXEurope For $482M

Foster City, California-based Equinix, a operator of data centers and Internet exchange services, said late Wednesday evening that it is buying IXEurope Plc, a provider of colocation services in europe, in a deal worth $482M. Equinix said that it will integrate IXEurope's data center business and operations under the Equinix brand. IXEurope operates data centers in London, Zurich, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Dusseldorf and Geneva. The acquisition is subject to approval by IXEurope stockholders and the UK courts. IXEurope's management team will join Equinix as part of the acquisition.
