Google Funds Gadgets
Mountain View-based Google has launched a new funding program to promote the use of the firm's gadgets, saying Wednesday that it will provide $5000 grants for gadget developers who want to make better gadgets, and $100,000 in seed funding for companies that would like to build a business around Google's gadgets. The new Google Gadget Ventures pilot program is open to gadget developers who get at least 250,000 weekly page views, and who are listed in the firm's Google gadgets directory. The firm says in a description of the program that developers interested in applying need to submit a one-page proposal via email.
