HP Acquires Opsware For $1.6B
Palo Alto-based HP said today that it has signed an agreement to purchase Sunnyvale-based Opsware, in a $1.6B cash deal. HP said the cash tender offer is worth $14.25 per share, and that Opsware will become part of the HP Software business. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals, and is expected to close before HP's fiscal Q4. Opsware is a provider of data center automation software, used for automating provisioning and patching, compliance, and other It operations.
