Virage Logic Buys Ingot Systems

Fremont, California-based Virage Logic announced this morning that it is in a deal to acquire Santa Clara-based Ingot Systems, a provider of functional IP and design services for the semiconductor industry. Financial details of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed. Ingot Systems provides expertise in the area of DDR memory controllers. Virage Logic said that Ingot Systems has approximately 30 employees, based in both Santa Clara and Pune, India. Ingot's Santa Clara employees will relocate to Virage Logic's Fremont headquarters, and the Pune, India location will become a seocnd site for the firm in India.
