Bay Area Leads In Tech Employment
A recent report issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco finds that the Bay Area continues to lead the nation in terms of IT jobs. The analysis, which looked at trends in Bay Area IT employment, found that the San Francisco Bay Area continued to lead the nation, but has seen a modest decline in its share, which hovers around 7% of the nationa's IT jobs. The report also found that the mix of IT jobs in the area has been shifting, from IT manufacturing jobs towards IT services jobs. The authors of the report attributed the shift to globalization of the IT supply chain, and also found that Bay Area IT service firms have added jobs at a faster pace than IT service firms in the nation as a whole.
