LSI Buys Packet Processing Firm Tarari
Milpitas-based LSI said today that it has acquired Tarari, a maker of XML and application processing silicon and software, in a deal worth $85M in cash. Tarari, which is based in San Diego, has approximately 45 employees and will become a part of LSI's Netweork & Storage Products Group. Tarari has raised more than $40M in funding from Enterprise Partners, Crosspoint Venture Partners, Morgan Stanley, Miramar Venture Partners, and XMLFund. Tarari's products were used for network processing used for applications like anti-virus, anti-spam, XML security, compression, and cryptography. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
