Friendster Adds Chinese Language Support
San Francisco-based social networking web site Friendster said last night that it has added Traditional Chinese support to the firm's web site. Friendster said that users of its site can now choose either English or Traditional Chinese to navigate its web site; the firm said that it now has over 35 million registered users in the Asia Pacific region, with 25 million monthly unique visitors from the area. Traditional Chinese is used in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and elsewhere as a written language; mainland China, however, uses Simplified Chinese characters.
