Samsung Electronics Acquires Clairvoyante Assets

Cupertino-based Samsung Electronics said today that it has acquired the IP asset of Clairvoyante Inc., an IP licensing firm. Financial terms were not disclosed. Clairvoyante's technology is focused on display technology. Samnsung Electronics is a provider of LCDs for the mobile, notebook, monitor, and TV market. Samsung said that it would dissolve Clairvoyante and create Nouvoyance, which will be headed by Clairvoyante's founder, Candice Brown Elliott, and staffed with Clairvoyante engineers.
