Viv Acquired By Samsung Electronics

San Jose-based Viv Labs, a developer of artificial intelligence software, has been acquired by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Viv Labs had been founded by Dag Kittlaus, Adam Cheyer and Chris Brigham, the creators of Apple's Siri platform. Viv says it is developing an artificial intelligence platform, which allow third party developers to build their own, conversational assistants. Samsung said Viv will continue to operate independently under its existing leadership, but work closely with Samsung's Mobile Communications business.
