Cisco Acquires Nuova Systems

San Jose-based Cisco said this morning that it acquired Nuova Systems, a maker of next generation data center products. According to Cisco, the deal is worth anything from $10 million to $678 million, depending on revenues from Nuova products. Cisco had previously owned 80 percent of the firm, and invested a total of $70M in the company. Nuova's founders came from Andiamo Systems, a similar Cisco spinout/acquisition, and Cisco Systems itself. Nuova's execs include former Cisco executive Mario Mazzola.
