Cavium Networks Acquires Star Semiconductor

Mountain View-based semiconductor provider Cavium Networks said Wednesday that it has acquired certain assets and the business of Taiwan-based Star Semiconductor Corporation. The deal is worth approximately $9M in cash. Star Semiconductor is a provider of semiconductor design expertise focused on ARM-based systems-on-a-chip processors. Cavium said the move will give it a highly experienced stand-alone SOC processor team based in Taiwan.
