Wigix Expands Catalog
Oakland-based Wigix, an online "stock market" for consumer products, said Tuesday that it has now reached one million catalog items on its site. The firm, which is venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and angel investors, allows users to big on good in a marketplace akin to the NASDAQ; the firm's founder, James Chong, is out of Charles Schwab. Wigix also said it has created a certification program for "category experts" who can submit items, descriptions, and information on its marketplace and share in revenues on the site.
