Wigix Rolls Storefront Service
Oakland-based Wigix, the DFJ-backed online marketplace for consumer products, said today that it has rolled out a new storefront offering which allows sellers to build and brand customized online shops. The new storefront service allows a Wigix widget to be embedded into any web page, and customized to the colors/look and feel that a user wants. The service--which uses a "stock market" like metaphor for consumer purchases--also allows users to gain revenue through affiliate sales of merchandise. The Wigix marketplace allows users to post what they're willing to pay for an item, while sellers post what they're willing to part with an item for, in a NASDAQ-style trading system.
