Zmanda Adds Oracle Support
Open source backup and recovery software provider Zmanda said Monday that the firm's backup software now supports Oracle. Zmanda--which is venture backed by Helion Venture Partners, BlueRun Ventures and Canaan Partners--said its Amanda Enterprise software now supports Oracle on Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris, and Windows. The backup software now connects to Oracle tools for snapshots and database recovery, a key feature for ensuring consistent backup recovery from Oracle. Zmanda's open source tool allows companies to backup to disk, tape, optical storage, or online data storage services like Amazon S3.
