iSkoot Buys Social.IM

San Francisco-based iSkoot said this morning that it has acuqired Social.IM, a maker of a social networking instant messaging client. Financial terms of the acquisition were not provided. iSkoot said it would use the acquisition to grow beyond mobile VoIP and into the web communications space. Social.IM's applications and web service allow users to instant message their friends on Facebook. iSkoot is venture backed by Charles River Ventrues, Khosla Ventures, and ZG Ventures; Social.IM is backed by Peter Thiel.
