LinkedIn Adds Widget Applications

Mountain View-based business social network LinkedIn said Tuesday that the firm has added a new feature which gives its users new social networking applications to the site. LinkedIn said the applications include collaboration tools, embedded connections to web services Amazon, TripIt, and SixApart, as well as embedding of Google Docs, presentations from SlideShare, and links to blogs. The new applications are similar to widgets found in Facebook and MySpace.
