Google Kills Radio Efforts
Mountain View-based Google said Thursday morning that the firm is exiting from its radio advertising efforts, saying that the effort hasn't provided the firm with "the impact we hoped for." The firm said it has decided to exit the broadcast radio business, and focus on online streaming audio. Google had launched into the radio marketin 2006, looking to apply the success it had online with selling advertising to the radio business. The firm said that up to 40 people would be affected by the move; the firm said it would "hope to find other roles" for the people involved, but said that they "may not be able to find other roles at Google."
