Charles River Ventures Taps Stanford Prof As Advisor

A New England venture capital firm, Charles River Ventures, is looking to the west coast for the firm's latest advisor, saying Monday that it has tapped Computer Science and Electrical Engineer--and Principal Engineer at Google--Sebastian Thrun as its Senior Advisor. According to CRV, Professor Thrun will help the partners at the firm identify new investment opportunities in Internet services and technology, and also advise portfolio firms. Thrun was behind Google's StreetView project, directs Stanfaord's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL), and was the lead on Stanford's winning entry in DARPA's $2M Grand Challenge race.
