Cisco Targets Michigan For Job Training Program
San Jose-based Cisco is getting behind a new effort from President Barack Obama to boost workforce retraining at community colleges, saying Tuesday that the firm has launched a pilot training program in Michigan to provide broadband, network security and health care information technology training. Cisco said it would invest "several million dollars" to enroll up to 5,000 students at three Michigan community colleges. Cisco said its efforts would be centered around its Cisco Networking Academy, and help students prepare for jobs as network security specialists, security administrators and network security support engineers.
