McAfee Buys Email Security Provider

Santa Clara-based McAfee announced Thursday that it will acquire MX Logic, a developer of email security and archiving tools. McAfee said it will pay $140M in cash, plus up to $30M in earnout for MX Logic. According to McAfee, MX Logic will become part of its Software-as-a-Service business unit, headed by Marc Oleson. MX Logic was venture backed by Adams Street Partners, Grayhawk Venture Partners, River Cities Capital Funds, UV Partners and Vista Ventures, and was based in Denver.
