Barracuda Networks Buys Purewire

Campbell-based Barracuda Networks announced Tuesday that it has acquired Purewire, a developer of secure web gateway products. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Barracuda said the acquisition would broaden its cloud-based platform, and also deepen its security research and threat detection capability. Purewire co-founder and CEO Mike Van Bruinisse becomes VP Enterprise Sales at Barracuda, with co-founder and CTO Paul Judge becoming VP Cloud Services and Chief Research Officer.
