Tessera Technologies Buys Siimpel

San Jose-based Tessera Technologies, a developer of imaging, optics, and other electronic sensors, said Tuesday that it has acquired Siimpel, a venture backed firm developing micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS) based cameras. The firm said it would pay $15M in cash for Siimpel. Tessera said the buy would enable it to offer wider range of high-value IP-based imaging and optics solutions.
