Responding to Barnes and Noble, Amazon Cuts Kindle Pricing
Online retailer Amazon.com has cut the price on its Kindle electronic reader to just $189, on the heels of the introduction of a Wi-Fi only version of the Nook e-book reader today from Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble said this morning that it has launched a Wi-Fi only version of the Nook, for $149, which it said was the first sub-$200 ebook reader. Amazon said that, effective immediately, it will sell the Kindle for only $189, down from the previous pricing of $259.
