Nanometrics Buys Nanda Technologies

Milpitas-based Nanometrics Incorporated, a provider of process control systems used in the semiconductor industry, said yesterday that it has acquired Nanda Technologies, GmbH, a German developer of high-throughput, high-sensitivity defect inspection technology for semiconductor manufacturing. Nanometrics said it paid approximately $23M in cash for Nanda. Nanometrics said that Dr. Lars Markwort, CEO of Nanda Technologies, becomes General Manager of its Nanometrics' Inspection business unit with the buy.
