Patreon Gets $2.1M in Seed Funding To Support YouTube Musicians
San Francisco-based Patreon, which operates a site which lets fans contribute funding to their favorite online YouTube musicians, has raised $2.1M in a seed funding round. The funding came from Charles River Ventures, SV Angel, Rothernberg Ventures, Atlas Ventures, Freestyle Capital, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, Garry Tan, and Tyler Willis, among others. Patreon's site lets everyday fans tip their favorite YouTube artists and musicians, such as Youtube sensation Pomplamousse. More information »
