Kumu Raises $15M For Wireless Radio Technology

Santa Clara-based Kumu Networks, a company developing technology to enable full duplex, wireless communications across a single frequency channel, has raised $15M in a funding round. The startup--which was founded out of Stanford--said the funding was led by Third Point Ventures. The round also included prior investors New Enterprise Associates and Khosla Ventures. Kumu has developed technology which allows radios to send and receive at the same time on the same channel, something not possible today due to self interference--the signal from a radio essentially cancelling out the ability of that radio receive while sending on a frequency.
