Defense.net Acquired By F5 Networks

San Jose-based Defense.net, a provider of services to help companies manage and mitigate distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, has been acquired by networking hardware maker F5 Networks. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. F5 will use the buy to bolster its cloud security services. Defense.net was venture backed by Bessemer Venture Partners.
