Yahoo Expands Data Center In Washington State

Mountain View-based Yahoo said this morning that it is expanding its data center operations in Quincy, Washington, the location of a data center the company has run since 2007. According to Yahoo, it is adding 300,000 feet to the data center, and will add thousands of new servers to the location, in order to support its global operations. Yahoo is just one of a large number of Silicon Valley companies with data center operations in Quincy, which has very low energy costs, nearby renewable energy resources, inexpensive real estate, and provides tax benefits to data center and other technology companies.
