Equinix Expands In Singapore

Foster City-based data center operator Equinix reported this week that it has opened up a new, $45M data center in Singapore, the firm's second in the country. According to the firm, the new data center will eventually have a capacity of 110,000 square feet when fully built out, with 1,700 colocation cabinets. The firm said the expansion in Singapore comes from "significant growth" in demand in the region, particularly with financial trading companies. The firm said the new center comes on top of new centers recently opened in Sydney and the expansion of its center in Hong Kong.
