Breakout Labs Makes Four Investments
San Francisco-based Breakout Labs, the investment arm of Peter Thiel's philanthorpic organization, the Thiel Foundation, has made investments in four companies. According to Breakout Labs, it has funded nanoGriptech, Maxterial, C2Sense, and CyteGen, which the investor said are "pushing the boundaries of science and technology". Size of the investments were not annoucned. nanoGriptech is developing a microfiber adhesive material; C2Sense is developing food freshness sensors using carbon nanotubes; Maxterial is developing metallic materials that resist corrosion; and CyteGen is developing technology to help reduce age-related mental decline.
