Albany, California-based Civil Maps, which is developing 3D mapping technology for the autonomous vehicle mapping industry, has raised $6.6M in funding. The funding was led by Motus Ventures, and also included Ford Motor Company, Wicklow Capital, StartX Stanford, and AME Cloud Ventures. The company, led by Sravan Puttagunta, is developing 3D maps that use LiDAR, camera, and other sensors to more accurately map out not just roads, but features next to roads that vehicles must navigate around.
