Unity Finds $400M More
San Francisco-based game engine developer Unity Technologies, which develops the 3D game engines used for virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as other 3D software, has raised $400M in a funding round from Silver Lake Partners, the company said on Tuesday. The funding reportedly values the company at over $2.6 billion. The company last raised funding in July of 2016, from such investors as DFJ Growth, China Investment Corporation, FreeS Fund, Thrive Capital and Max Levchin, Sequoia Capital and WestSummit Capital.
