23andMe Gets $250M For DNA Testing Efforts
Mountain View-based 23andMe announced on Tuesday morning that it has raised $250M in a growth funding round. The round--which had been leaked last week--was led by Sequoia Capital, and also included Euclidean Capital, Altimeter Capital and the Wallenberg Foundation plus Fidelity Management & Research Company and Casdin Capital. 23andMe said that Roelof Botha of Sequoia has joined the company's board, as has Neal Mohan, Chief Product Officer for YouTube and a Senior Vice President at Google. 23andMe is led by Anne Wojcicki.
