Azureus Raises $12M For P2P Network

Palo Alto-based Azureus, which develops peer to peer applications for the distribution of files across the Internet, has raised $12M in a Series B round. The round was led by Redpoint Ventures, and also included Greycroft Partners, and individual investment by Jarl Mohn, Chairman of CNET, and existing investor BV Capital. Azureus said the funding would go towards the launch of Zudeo, the firm's new digital media platform code. According to Azureus the new Zudeo platform enables content providers to publish, showcase, and distribute high resolution long-form content, including video and games in HD or DVD quality.
