Cisco Acquires ContainerX

Cisco announced this morning that acquired San Jose-based ContainerX, which develops "container" management software for the data center market. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Cisco says that ContainerX develops software to help enterprises manage, orchestrate and integrate containers across data centers, and will join the company's Cloud Platform & Services Group led by Vice President Kip Compton. ContainerX was backed by Greylock Partners, General Catalyst, and Caffeinated Capital.
