Cisco Buys Social Networking Site Five Across

San Jose-based Cisco Systems said today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Five Across, a developer of social networking software. Five Across develops a product that allows companies to add blogs, podcasts, and user-generated features like video and photo sharing to their web sites. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close by April 28th, the close of Cisco's third quarter. Five across employs 11 in San Francisco.
