Cisco Buys Cariden
San Jose-based Cisco said this morning that it is acquiring Sunnyvale-based Cariden, a developer of network planning, design, and traffic management products. Cisco said it will pay approximately $141M in cash plus retention-based incentives for Cariden. Cariden's products are used by telecommunications providers for IP/MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) networks. Cariden becomes part of Cisco's Service Provider Networking Group.
