Google Buy Emu For Mobile AI Expertise

Mountain View-based Google has acquired Emu, a developer of text messaging apps which include such features as calendar scheduling, location sharing, reminders, and more. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Emu was founded by Gummi Hafsteinsson and Dave Feldman, and used such techniques as artificial intelligence and natural language processing to predict a user's next action. Emu is completely shutting down its service as a result of the acquisition.
