Google Targets Teams
Google said this morning it has launched a new offering to help teams manage their projects. Google said its new Google Sites is an application which allows teams to gather information, including calendars, videos, presentations, attachments, and other information. The new offering is based on technology acquired when it purchased JotSpot. Google purchased JotSpot in October of 2006. The new application is targeted at allowing users to create company intranets, team web sites, classroom pages, and other sites, and offers similar functionality to portal software offerings like Microsoft Sharepoint and others.
