McAfee Acquires Reconnex

Santa Clara-based McAfee said late Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Mountain View-based Reconnex, a provider of data loss prevention software. The deal is worth $46M in cash. McAfee said that Reconnex will become part of McAfee's Data Protection product business unit, headed by Gerhard Watzinger. Reconnex investors include Outlook Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Levensohn Venture Partners, and August Capital.
