McAfee Completes Reconnex Buy

Santa Clara-based McAfee announced late Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of Reconnex, in a deal worth $46M. Reconnex, which develops security software, will become part of McAfee's Data Protection business unit. Reconnex develops data loss prevention software. Reconnex was based in Mountain View, and was venture backed by Outlook Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Levensohn Venture Partners, and August Capital. McAfee said that Reconnex will be integrated into McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, in 2009.
