Cisco Taps Hooper As Chief Strategy Officer
San Jose-based Cisco said today that it has named Ned Hooper, the firm's Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Consumer, to the additional position of Chief Strategy Officer. Cisco said that Hooper's expanded role will give him a hand in developing the firm's business strategy and identifying "market transitions" for the firm. Hooper has been at Cisco for 11 years, and headed acquisitions of Linksys, Scientific Atlanta, Webex, IronPort, Airspace and Pure Digital; prior to Cisco, he was at Lightspeed International.
